Join us on Tuesday, July 29 at 5:00 PM at The Ion for "Navigating Your Clean Energy Career" a special program by REAL Houston designed for interns and early-career professionals looking to build a meaningful future in clean energy.

Hear from leaders from Leeward Renewable Energy—Mark Dypiangco, Senior Director of Development, and Omar Aboudaher, Senior Vice President of Development—who will share personal insights and career lessons from their journey through the renewable energy industry. The discussion will be moderated by Kay McCall, Chair of the REAL Houston Board and a seasoned clean energy executive.

Attendees will walk away with actionable advice on navigating uncertainty, embracing growth opportunities, and building resilience in a rapidly evolving industry.

Following the discussion, guests will have the opportunity to explore the various career paths available in our growing industry by networking with early-to-mid-career professionals who can share insights into their chosen careers – from what their day-to-day looks like, to what their mid-to-long-term career trajectory may be. From development, project finance, government affairs, regulatory compliance, human resources, title, project management, operations, and more – hear first-hand what a career in clean energy can look like! These conversations will provide an up-close look at the variety of roles shaping the industry—and how you can chart your own path forward.

A professional headshot photographer will also be on-site, offering complimentary, edited headshots to help you put your best foot forward.

Speaker Bios

Omar Aboudaher

Mr. Omar Aboudaher is Sr. Vice President of Development at Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE). In this role, he heads the company’s development activities in the Southern and Western US, where he leads a team of developers and is responsible for a 10+ GW portfolio of projects. He has more than 25 years of experience in the power generation sector, including engineering, development, and financing of renewable energy projects worldwide. Prior to joining Leeward, Mr. Aboudaher developed renewable and thermal power projects at First Solar, NRG, BP, Calpine, and Enron International.

Mark Dypiangco

Mark Dypiangco is the Senior Director of Development at Leeward Renewable Energy. LRE develops, constructs, owns, and operates wind, solar, and energy storage facilities across the United States. Mark leads the development of projects across the South region which encompasses the ERCOT, MISO, TVA, and SERC markets. He has over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector including project development, asset management, financial analysis, and M&A roles.
